‘More Hip, More Immersive’: 1 Million Visitors to Seoul Outdoor Libraries in the First Half of the Year
- Three Seoul Outdoor Libraries have completed their first-half operations.
- After opening on April 23 (Wed) for ‘World Book Day,’ the libraries saw 1 million visitors in the first half of the year, surpassing a total of 6.08 million visitors.
- With a satisfaction rate of 96.6% and 87.1% of visitors reading more than one book, this is the best performance ever, showing overwhelming public support.
- The ‘Hipdok Club’ surpassed 60,000 posts, with trendy reading cultures like ‘Nomad Reading’ spreading widely.
- Over 80 locations nationwide have followed suit, with 14 districts in Seoul and 53 institutions also running similar programs.
- After a break in July and August, the libraries will reopen on September 5 (Wed). From August 22 (Fri) to 24 (Sun), a ‘Summer Night Library’ will be held with a city vacation theme.
